After all, the Mikealson clan is known for their bickering and never seeing eye-to-eye. Using magic, they chased down Klaus’s ashes and needed Hope’s input to figure out where his final resting spot should be. Hope believed it was all staged to conjure up her feelings, but her aunt’s reminded her that this was very real.
There was even a second line and everything. While Hope initially believed that she was stuck in some figment of her imagination or memory, the fact that neither Klaus nor Elijah made an appearance made it abundantly clear that everything was happening in real life.Īnd while it may have been some time since their passing, the family gathered to honor Klaus and lay him to rest. And if a deadly battle with the gods isn’t enough to bring a mother home, I don’t know what is. Heck, I’m still waiting for Caroline Forbes to show up in Mystic Falls and be there for her kids. And I’m hoping that their promise of “visiting more” and being there for Hope means that these guest appearances will become more frequent.
I’ve missed these people more than I ever cared to admit. Hope may not have agreed, but it felt soooo good to be back home. Vincent - off screen - anchored a spell that astral projected Hope back to familial territory where she had a “morbid reunion” (her words, not mine) with Rebekah (Claire Holt), Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), Freya (Riley Voelkel), and Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic).Īdmittedly, Legacies has suffered from the more childlike aspects in comparison to The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, but the return to New Orleans made all those lackluster episodes worth it. The fight to turn on Hope’s humanity was in full-swing, and with every plan failing and faltering, Alaric turned to the promise of “always and forever.” It was a family reunion on Legacies Season 4 Episode 15 as we ventured back to New Orleans, and more specifically, Rousseau’s, the bar located in the heart of the French Quarter.
